Reflection

Looking back {looking back on Utah's early schools....if that popped into your head---you're legit}
Anyway.  Looking back on this year of my life, I'm a little bit shocked it's over.
It's been a wild ride folks.
I've learned things I'd never thought I'd learn.
I've felt things I couldn't see myself ever feeling.
I've heard things I never imagined I'd hear.

I've laughed...a lot.
I've cried.....a bit.
I've stressed....a lot.
I've partied....not enough.

As hard as some things have been, I wouldn't trade any of them for anything.

I wouldn't trade the late night talks that caused me to fall asleep during practicum.
I wouldn't trade the nasty sink full of stinky dishes that taught me to take deep breaths and keep the swearing to myself.
I wouldn't trade the pizza parties in the library.
I wouldn't trade the kinked neck from sleeping on the love seat.
I wouldn't trade the moldy bathroom that taught me how important cleanliness really is.
I wouldn't trade the hours spent watch and shoe shopping.
I wouldn't trade the meows.
I wouldn't trade the 19 credit hours that taught me to prioritize and focus and finish.
I wouldn't change the parking situation that forced me to get to know my neighbors at 6:00 in the morning.
I wouldn't trade hearing and smelling farts.
I wouldn't change that night that taught me how unconditional my love can be for a person.

I wouldn't trade any of this because it's what made me me this year.
It's what gave me the confidence to go out and do what I need to do to make my life what it needs to be.
It taught me that I can do hard things.
And I can do them well.

I've learned that people care about me.
I've learned that people are important.
I've learned that it's ok to accept help.
I've learned that life is good.

Is this the beginning.

The start of something new?

I don't know.

My life could possibly be starting.  I've lived the same kind of life for the last three years.  The life of a college student.  It's had a lot of ups and a few downs.

Today I was interviewed to see if I am ready to be done living this life.  To see if I'm ready to try a little something new.

The interview felt good. I was finally able to express my passion and my knowledge about the things I've been studying.  I was finally able to hear myself defend my philosophies and beliefs.

And it sounded good.
And it felt good.

Here's to the next chapter of my story.  Whether it be of the same genre or a different.

I'm ready.

Too school for cool.

So guys yesterday was one of the best days of my life. Wanna know why???
Because I went to my last {awful} lecture class of the semester!!
Wow. Let's take a minute for that to set in.
I'm done.
Granted I have the practicum for the rest of the semester, but that's a whole nother ball game.
And the ball game of death is over.
Hallelujah

But, there were some good times during these classes.
We certainly found ways to entertain ourselves.
For Instance.....

Orange section sculptures

Math manipulative fun!

Hand art!

First of all don't judge the bush that is my eyebrow.
Second of all I fell asleep.
And got a sweet mark from it

It's happy to see you!

Tin foil people that express our emotions.

And last but definitely not least, these beautiful ladies.
Seriously though there is no way in hades I would have made it through without them.

Boost.

Ya know how when you go to Jamba Juice you can get boosts....like energy or immunity???
Well kids I have an even better boost option for you.
It's called 4th graders.

I did my practicum in a 4th grade class.  When I left, the kids gave me letters and I will tell you what.....they are amazing!!!!!

I know this may be boring for you to read....but deal with it....or don't....you have your agency.  :)

To: Mrs. Becoret.
Thank you for your help we will miss you.  we wish that you could stay but you have to go.  Thank you for you helping me. Now you have to leve. Now it's goodbye.

Dear Ms. Beckert
We all are gonna miss you.  Good job teaching little rascels and the other one (me.) My favorite thing was the story when I was the old lady.  Besides I am an old Lady anyways.  We are your youngest pals.
ps Nice job putting up with me.  Nice job.

and my personal favorite.....

Dear Miss Beckert,
Thank you for everything you have done.  You are the greatest person in the whole intire world.  I wish you could stay.
P.S. Make sure the rest of your life is exciting and you have more adventures.  If your a student teacher again make sure the kids like you as much as I did.  Hope you have the best day ever in your whole intire life.
Make sure everyone of the people in your school know how awesome you are every single day.  You are the best student teacher and pearson in the whole wide world.  Again thank you for everything you have done like grade our papers, help us if we get stuck on a problem, your patient and your the best pearson in the world.  Make sure every human being knows that you are awesome and the best pearson in the world.  And remember to stay happy the rest of your life.

There ya go.
That was better than an energy boost....eh? :)

The last few weeks...

I've been so lazy with writing on here and in my personal journal for that matter...I'm trying to do better because I seriously believe that documenting your experiences is muy importante.  So here's a quicky about the last month or so.....
  • New APT: My new place is great....yes we didn't have hot water..but now we do..so it's all good!! :) I love living here and love being here with my besties!!! (If I can ever remember when it's clean...maybe I'll take some pictures)
  • New Classes: SUCK. Ok ok so they aren't that bad but I'm just finishing up all of my generals so I'm taking a bunch of classes that mean nothing to me.  Like Intelligent Life in the Universe.  Yup a whole class devoted to aliens.  SOOOO boring.  Also, I'm taking a humanities class and seriously the whole time I really do not know what is going on...it's a struggle.  But the quizzes comes straight from Spark Notes...ya the teacher doesn't know what she's doing...pretty sure.  Also, I'm taking a Piano Pedagogy class where we learn how to teach piano. I personally love it.  There are only like 2 or 3 of us in the class that aren't piano majors, and basically everyone in that class is just taking it because they have to.  But, I like it... :)
  • New Job: LOVE IT!! It's def my cup of tea.... I work every day from 2-6 and I just love it.  I work mostly with the first graders and quite frankly every day I want to take them home with me....mostly just one of them...but I can't..:( But it's good pay and I just play with kids all day.... it rocks.

First day of school

Today I watched my lil brother and sister prepare for their first day of school. Bought school supplies. Check. Cut Hair.  Check.  Laid out clothes on the floor in the order you will wear them. Check. All of the memories of my first days of school came flooding back.  I used to get sooo nervous.  My lil sister is starting to go to the high school as a sophomore this year.

When I went to tour the high school after I got my sophomore schedule, Brit and I seriously about died.  We both vividly remember the day we thought that "HUGE" school was going to eat us alive.  HA.

It's been great to watch Car go through those same things and tell her..."it's not that big of a deal." But of course she doesn't listen.  I think she's tried on her outfit 3 times and run through the way she's going to do her hair at least 50 times.  I just sit back and laugh.  Thankful that my high schools days are behind me and I will never have to go through the nervous first day of school ever again.

School for me starts in a week.  Also only TWO DAYS until I move out!! Can't wait.

My mouth is healing up nicely. Thank goodness.
