Let's play a game

A game called---"What photos are on Amy's cell phone"

SOunds fun right?????

Trust me you'll love it :)

Regina and I at our epic temple study date.  Yes my hair is in my eyes.  My grandma HATES when my hair is  in my eyes.  She tells me I look like a sheep dog.  One time I had a tiny bit of bang blocking my eye in a school picture and I had to get retakes because my mom knew my grandma would be outraged.

Logan Temple. At night.

My crepe from THe Crepery.  It was quite frankly divine.

Paige and I at same temple study date.  My hair is no longer in my eyes.

My laptop at the temple.

On one of my adventures I came across this pile of junk and thought it looked artistic.  I love when I have an artistic eye.

The brother.  and his huge foot.

Sometimes I take pictures of my self to see what my hair looks like in a picture.  I don't have any make up on.  Lovely.  Also, is it weird that I do my hair and then my make up?  Because  mostly everyone I've seen get ready does it opposite.  Strange.

One day while walking home from campus I came across this lovely gutter filled with worms.  Yum.

This is me a the beautiful  flower shop I occasionally work at to earn a little extra mula. And I have baby's breath in my ears.

The Crepery.  I wish I could type that the same way I say it.  It sounds so much better when I say it.

Oh hey remember that time I was at the library for 4 hours 2 nights in a row working on my dang English paper.  Remember how on this particular night there was a cute boy (who coincidently works at the crepery....strange) sitting at the table next to me so I took a picture of myself to see if I looked any where near charming and alas....I don't.  My hand was over my mouth like that most of the night.  I guess it helps me think or just keeps me from swearing at the words on the computer.
One time my good friend Bhavna was on vacation in Hawaii.  She sent me a beautiful picture of the sunny warm beach letting me know how beautiful Hawaii is.  So I took a picture of how un-beautiful Logan was on that particular evening.

Well that was fun!!!

So here's the thing...

It's been like what 2 weeks since I last blogged...holy kanolli...that's a while.  However I haven't been blogging  because I just don't know what to blog about....

I could blog about the fact that I'm broke.

or the fact that I'm not dating anyone...nor have I in quite some time

or how I'm in DYER NEED TO GO ON VACATION!!!

or the fact that my dreams are OUT OF CONTROL! Basically I've dreamed about being in a relationship with someone practically every night for a week (the dreams are clean and moral just fyi) therefore causing me to actually feel like I neeeeed to be in a relationship with this person.

or the fact that my grandparents (who happen to be two of my favorite people) surprised me by coming to Logan and taking to me to lunch today.

or maybe I could blog about how this is my last week of After school club and how I thought I would be ok with it until my favorite 1st grader told me like a kazillion times today that he was going to miss me and gave me a bibillion hugs.

or perhaps you'd like to hear about the fact that I have no motivation to find a 2nd job.

or maybe I should write about the great bonding times I've been having with my sister.

or do you want to hear about my gratitude for the amazing friendships I've formed with my co-workers this year?

or should we just leave it at the fact that....

LIFE IS GREAT!
I AM BLESSED!!
AND I AM HAPPY!!!

Sunday Spirit

"You knew what I was when you picked me up"

Being the daughter of a seminary teacher, growing up we watched seminary videos for many-a family home evening.  One in particular has been on my mind for the last couple days.

It tells of an Indian legend that goes like this...

Many years ago, Indian youths would go away in solitude to prepare for manhood. One such youth hiked into a beautiful valley. There he fasted, and on the third day he decided to test himself against the mountain. He put on his buffalo-hide shirt, threw his blanket over his shoulders, and set off to climb the peak.
When he reached the top, he could see forever, and his heart swelled with joy. Then he heard a rustle at his feet. Looking down, he saw a snake. Before he could move, the snake spoke: “I am about to die. It is too cold for me up here, and I am freezing. There is no food, and I am starving. Put me under your shirt and take me down to the valley.”
“Oh, no,” said the youth. “I know your kind. You are a rattlesnake. If I pick you up, you will bite me, and I will die.”
“Not so,” said the snake. “I will treat you differently. If you do this for me, you will be special. I will not harm you.”
The youth withstood for a while, but this was a very persuasive snake with beautiful markings. At last the youth tucked it under his shirt and carried it down to the valley. There he laid it gently on the grass. Suddenly, the snake coiled, rattled, and struck, biting him on the leg.
“But you promised—” cried the youth.
“You knew what I was when you picked me up,” said the snake as it slithered away.

As I've been thinking about this phrase this past week, I've thought a lot about the power Satan thinks he has.   Satan will do EVERYTHING he can to disguise sin to look like something we want to "pick up". He makes us feel like we are the exception and we are special so we won't be harmed.  However, we have the power to resist him.  We have the power to avoid Satan and the traps he sets for us.

We gained this power, because our Savior Jesus Christ came to earth and sacrificed his life to fulfill our Heavenly Father's great plan.

In the end, Satan is going to lose.

In the legend, after the snake harmed the youth, he slithered away.  Satan doesn't care when we struggle, in fact that is what he wants.  The only one who won't "slither away" is our Father in Heaven who loves each and every one of us.

Even those of us who pick up a few rattle snakes along the way.

To read the talk I got the story from go here.  I wanted to be able to find the actual video to post but couldn't.
