Two Soles with but one.....Shoe

"My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me."

- Henry Ford

I've been very blessed to have this best friend in my life.  Brittnay and I have been friends since the 4th grade.  It took us a while, but we became inseparable by the 6th grade. We've been through our struggles but we've never stopped being best friends.  It's hard for me to believe that people don't have someone like Brittnay.  She's my confidant. She's so loyal....like a dog :) We can tell each other everything. We laugh together, cry together, yell together and have fun together.  We've made it through a lot of crap storms, so I know we can be friends through anything.

I love ya Britt!

Recently, we've come across another...Larissa is great.  She adds so much to our friendship.  She sleeps in between us every night.  We tell each other our deepest darkest secrets : ) I know that the three of us have some great times ahead of us! I can't wait.

You guys are great.  I love you!!! Thanks for everything!

A Pointless Post

I really have nothing to write..... I'm just bored....and not wanting to do any homework.

Last week there was an earthquake.....I have never been in an earthquake before so it was a nice life milestone.  Don't worry we didn't have to duck and cover and get under our desk while the sky was falling.  I was just at work the tables shook for about a minute and then that was it.  I'm pretty glad I wasn't at Morgan Hall because I hear the tall old building doesn't exactly have a strong foundation.  But that was a pretty exciting moment in my life.  :)

Also, I registered for next semester a few nights ago.  I serioulsy can't believe my first year of college is coming to an end.  Time is a crazy thing.  It just goes by.  I'm super stoked for the summer and the adventures I have planned.  : )

Also, I only have to work 2 more days at my stupid job.  I'm just so annoyed with a) the people who work there b) the rules and c) working weekends.
They hired a whole bunch of high school students that seriously are just so annoying!!! Also, because they hired all those high school students and alll their friends, no one has been focusing....go figure.  So now we can't have ANYTHING on our desk to do.  Needless to say I doze off everyday.

Anyway....time to get back to life...it never stops! : ) :)

His Hands

I've been thinking a lot lately about my Saviors hands. My favorite conference talk was by Pres Uchdorf in the Sunday morning session. "You are my Hands". He told this story and it has stuck with me since.

A story is told that during the bombing of a city in World War II, a large statue of Jesus Christ was severely damaged. When the townspeople found the statue among the rubble, they mourned because it had been a beloved symbol of their faith and of God’s presence in their lives.
Experts were able to repair most of the statue, but its hands had been damaged so severely that they could not be restored. Some suggested that they hire a sculptor to make new hands, but others wanted to leave it as it was—a permanent reminder of the tragedy of war. Ultimately, the statue remained without hands. However, the people of the city added on the base of the statue of Jesus Christ a sign with these words: “You are my hands.”
Like I said this has really stuck with me since Conference weekend. I am His hands. I started thinking about the symbolism behind the Saviors hands. The scriptures say that we are engraven on the Saviors palms; we are always with him. The nail prints not only represent the Crucifixion but they symbolize the fact that the Crucifixion was for us. Each of us individually so that we might over come death. The Savior's hands did nothing but good while he was on the earth. He went about serving, embracing, teaching, and healing. I love the movies that depict the Savior healing a blind man or a leper with only the touch of His hand. His hands served. I'm also reminded of the portrayal of the Savior in the Garden of Gethsemane. His hands quenched in pain as He suffered so that we don't have to. So that we can return and live with our Father in Heaven. Everything his hands do are for someone else. He used and still uses his hands to help others.
Pres. Uchdorf focused on the fact that our hands should also be used to benefit others. We are His hands. We are given the responsibility to do with our hands what the Savior would do with his if he were here.
So after I'd been thinking about this for the past week or so, I had a "fireball flying through the sky" experience yesterday in Sacrament Meeting when our testimony meeting was started off with the special musical number "His Hands". That summed up everything I had been thinking. My testimony of the Saviors "hands" grew full fold and I'm so grateful for that. I love my Savior and am striving each day to "make my hands like those of Galilee".

Life is good!!

Wow! what a great week it has been! Things are just going great! I decided to think of the top ten things to be grateful for this week....
  1. The Sunshine--the sun has been missing for like the last 5 months, but it finally returned the last couple of days. It is so beautiful!! I love opening the windows and letting it all pour in the apartment!
  2. The Praxis--ok i'm not really grateful for the actual Praxis, I am however grateful that I PASSED!!! I semi take back all the terrible naughty words I said about that test and the people who administer it. Not only did I get $80 back but I also don't have to take it again. YAY!! I'm also grateful for the holy ghost. I know I had his help during the test!
  3. Nice insurance guys--my dad got it all worked out with his nice insurance guy so I will have a CAR next year!!! So happy!
  4. my roomies!!-- I love them so much...they complete me!! :)
  5. Getting up on time--It's SOO hard for me to get up on time on Tuesdays and Thursdays but yesterday, I was up on time and actually ON TIME to class!! YAY!!
  6. Cleaning Checks--they suck, but they make me clean! (go figure) but I finally cleaned out under my bed for the first time this year. Larissa was sick of looking at all the little friends under there. :0 now it basically sparkles!! :)
  7. Getting a goood chair and headset at work: yesterday was the first time in weeks that my headset has even stayed on my head! Not to mention the chairs. Tuesday my chair was approximatly 4 inches off the ground, also, on Wednesday my chair was so far reclined. But yesterday, my chair and headset were perfect. I even moved seats and they were still great ones. :)
  8. Friday--I love Fridays....sleep in....good dinners....no work....and time with friends!
  9. My family-- I just love them!! Easter weekend was great. We did our traditional 'easter trail'. My mom also made DELICIOUS food and we all spent time together. It was so much fun!
  10. My Savior Jesus Christ-- I'm so grateful for my savior and the testimony that I have that he Lives! He knows me; He knows my thoughts, struggles and emotions. He knows because He has literally been there! He loves each of us individually. Conference was amazing and just proclaimed the fact that the Savior lives and He will come again! I'm so grateful I know that!
