A post Christmas dating post

The holidays are such a joyous time. A time where families gather for good times and good conversations. As a single, young adult, the talk usually vers in a single, or rather, married direction. My favorite, infamous question....Are you dating anyone? and it's rather pointless follow up...Why?
I have yet to come up with a response to that last question.
The only thing my sarcastic brain can come up with is..."I don't know. Why don't you tell me."
Sometimes I actually respond with that...and sometimes the innocent inquirerer enlightens me on the exact reason for my naked left ring finger. But that is neither here nor there.

So internet. I'm not dating anyone. Yuh wanna know why????
I don't actually know.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...
As soon as those males realize how dang amazing I am...I won't be able to keep them away.

The problem is, they have yet to realize the fact that I am quite a catch.

Now, I have very little experience in the dating scene. Some--but very little. It would be very easy to fit my dating resume on one page. On occasion this bothers me. I sometimes wish I could relate every situation to one of my "exes". I wish I had endless memories of tickle fights, late night cuddling, etc,etc. But then I think about it and I'm not really missing out on all that much. I mean on the bright side...my heart is still relativly in one piece. I'm real good at paying for my own dinner. etc. etc. Thus, I'm pretty well off if you ask me.

Someday, I will have the opportunity to participate in dating bliss. Someday I'll find my one and only. My better half.

One things for sure....
I'll have to make sure he really really loves me before I take him home to meet the rest of my family tree. They're a little nuts.

Tis The Reason for the Season.

Christmas.  I really do love Christmas.  Since I moved away from home however, I struggle feeling the Christmas spirit.  So I've been pondering what Christmas means to me.

Christmas is the excitement of loved ones as they receive gifts from me.

Christmas is the time to focus on my Savior Jesus Christ.

Christmas is a time to spend with the people I love.

Christmas is the time when people make sacrifices.

Christmas is a beautiful time.

Christmas is a time to reflect and ponder about what matters most.
Christmas is a time of gratitude and giving.

Merry Christmas! 

I'm getting old.

Along with getting old I'm also getting legit-er....eh...more legit? Whatever it is, I'm legit.  Because today friends, was my 21st birthday.

Here's the thing. Because of the principles and standards I believe in, the only really legit thing about turning 21 is....getting a horizontal drivers license!!!

So that's what I did to celebrate this birthday of all birthdays. I went to the DMV and got myself a drivers license that lays horizontal. And I'm proud of  it!

Usually I spotlight my family members on their birthday and show cute/embarrassing photos of them.  Would it be arrogant of me to do the same for myself? IDK and quite frankly IDC. :)     (idon'tknow. and. idon'tcare.)

I thought this was going be the worst semester of my life.  But God had different plans. And boy, oh boy I'll tell you what....I'm SO glad He's in control.


So today I'm going to snuggle up.  Get some business done.  Spend time with people I love.  And just love life.  You should do the same :)

First of all....cheesy country songs make great blog post titles. I think maybe all my future blog titles will come from country song titles.  Maybe.

Now back to the title.
God gave me you.

I've always been a firm believer in the fact that God puts people in our paths for very specific reasons.
People are important.

Up until these last few months, I've thought God only put people in my life for me to help.  I felt I needed to put my problems aside and help others with theirs.

This semester has been a doozy.  I've already been through a lot.  Yesterday was rough.  I was belittled and made to feel like shiz all day.

Then I came home to these wonderful people God has put in my life at this time.

And everything was ok.
More than ok. Everything was great.

I have been meaning to blog about this for quite sometime now.

They recently broke the ground for the Payson, Utah LDS temple.

I am completely and entirely stoked for this beautiful building to be built.

As a child, my parents worked out at this gym where we would go for day care.  As you walked to the front door, the sidewalk was replaced with a HUGE storm drain.  My dad would tease me and tell me that there were alligators under the drain and if you shook it they would  eat you.  As I would timidly walk across the drain, my dad would stomp and march on the end so it would shake the whole storm drain.  I would bawl and run to the end as fast as I could before the alligators that were in there could get to me.  

I believed my dad, and I still do. 

I'm still very afraid to walk over these storm drains in fear that the second I start across, it will begin to rattle and shake and I'll become that terrified little girl again.   I avoid walking on them at all costs.  If I do have to walk over them, I walk very slowly and cautiously.  

It's a problem.

Today is my wittle sisters birthday!!!!
She's the baby of the family and today is 17 years old.  However to me she is still 9.  I feel like it will always be that way :)

2. She is sooo talented. Way good at the piano and a beautiful singer.  When she sings "for good" from wicked, I cry.  Kinda a big deal  :)
